Live music at the Lade
CEILIDHS - Live Folk Music every Friday and Saturday Night.
BARAN: Bobby And Richard And Neil are a three piece band from Kilmarnock. Regulars at the Lade Inn for years now, they never fail to get everyone going with their brilliant musicianship using a wide array of instruments (most I have never seen before.electric bagpipe..) and their cheeky comments. Foot stomping and cheering most welcome. |
ROGER SHARP: Roger Sharp is a local lad who again is a permanent fixture at the Lade. A man of the country, adept at hunting, his skills also encompass playing the Accordian and Bagpipes, a tradition that is hard to find. |
HAGGERDASH: Haggerdash, a band well known in folk circles having played at many festivals, on the radio and with regular gigs covering Scotland. A trio consisting of Billy, Davy & David from around Lanarkshire they have been entertaining crowds for years. From traditional songs to their own creations they are always going to put a smile on your face with their tall stories or a song to your lips with their sweet music. |
SANNOCK : The name Sannock is an old Scots word for Sandy, and in this case solo artist Sandy Marshall 'The Scottish Songster', a versatile singer, songwriter and member of the Perthshire band Tarneybackle. With loads of excellent recordings to his name, he is always popular when he plays traditional and contemporay folk songs with favourites such as "Killiecrankie" and "Wild Mountain Thyme" to Dougie McLean's "Feel So Near" and "Ready For The Storm" .... a great range of classic songs performed with passion and panache! |
JOHN MALCOLM: John has been playing at the Lade Inn for nearly a year now and his 'Lost Sock' song is a clear favourite with the audiences.
Playing as a solo artist from the Cruachan Folk Group, he has been performing music for over two decades and is a well known name on the Scottish folk scene, playing at clubs, pubs and festivals throughout Scotland and abroad. |
ROBIN LAING : Robin Laing is a legend in Scottish Folk Music, travelling the world and selling music, books & his poetry globally. With a master of whisky qualification, what this man doesn't know about whisky isn't worth knowing. His ingenius way of cuminating the two loves of his life whisky & song result in a brilliant nights entertainment. We don't get him very often so when we do make the most of it! |
TARNEYBACKLE: Tarneybackle
is one of Scotland's popular folk groups, performing a wide range of traditional and contemporary folk music. The band sing mainly Scottish folk songs, adding in some tunes and material from North America and Ireland. John Davidson and Sandy Marshall perorm for us as a duo. |
PURE MALT : Pure Malt was formed by Gordon McDiarmid and wee brother Tam back in 1984, they added a farmer chiel "big Tam" Clark in 2002 with his charismatic banter, natural harmonies and Bothy Ballads and Chas McLeod in 2006 with bass guitar, moothie, bodhran and penny whistle. A riotous and funny evening guaranteed with the banter between the band and audience. |
